ALLEGRA, DR. SALVATORE R., 85, of Buttonwoods Ave., passed away May 1, 2007 at Kent Hospital in Warwick. He was the beloved husband Dorothy M. (Leddy) Allegra.

He was born in Sussak, Yugoslavia. A son of the late Sante and Feidora (Koch) Allegra.

He graduated Summa Cum Laude in medicine and surgery at the University of Bologna, Italy. Dr. Allegra was the Director of Pathology at St. Joseph's Health Services of R. I. from 1959 to 2000. He was an associate of Pathology at Tufts University. He was a member of the American Medical Association, the New England Society of Pathologists, the R.I. Society of Pathologists and the R.I. Medical Society. He was an active member of the University Club in Providence.

Besides his wife he is survived by three sons Dr. Ludwig A. Allegra of Seattle, Washington, Dr. David P. Allegra of Los Angeles, California, and Dr. Christopher J. Allegra of Chappaqua, N.Y. Brother of Maria Hewlett of London, England and the late Joseph Allegra. Also survived by four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
