Great-GrandAunt

She was the twin of Harry W. McDonald. She was the daughter of Nebraska pioneers, Judge David McDonald and Sarah J. Slader.

Orphaned at the age of nine when both her parents died within six months of each other, she and her siblings were raised by their uncle, Milon M. Warner, and their maternal aunt, Caroline D. Slader Warner. The Warners left the climate of Nebraska behind and in 1885 moved with their two nieces and three nephews to California where they cultivated fruit orchards.
