He was born to Warren and Ellen Dye Knight. In 1950, he married Delores Bruegger in Burlington.
Mr. Knight was a laborer at the former Butler Manufacturing Company in Galesburg for 15 years before retiring in 1994. He had lived in Burlington for many years and in Galesburg since 1980. He graduated from high school in Fort Madison and served in the Army.
Survivors include sons, Douglas Knight of the Quad Cities and Gregory Knight of Marion; daughter, Deborah Knight of Detroit; seven grandchildren; and brothers, Harry and Albert Knight.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters.
A memorial service was held at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Balesburg Chapel.
