Mrs. Charles McAuley

Mrs. Essie M. McAuley of 239 Day Street died at 1:55 o'clock this morning at 1375 Maple avenue, the home of her daughter. Mrs. McAuley had been ill 2 1/2 months.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the First and Puckett Funeral home where friends may call Tuesday evening. Burial will be in Linwood cemetery with Rev. Alan Jenkins officiating.
Mrs. McAuley was born Aug 3, 1882, at Red Oak, O., the daughter of Cyrus F. and Elizabeth (Mannon) McCreight. She was graduated in 1904 from the Cottage hospital school of nursing and later became active in the local Nurses' club.
On April 2 1907, she was married in Galesburg to Charles McAuley, who survives. Mrs. McAuley was a member of Central Congregational church and had been active in church affairs.
Surviving besides her husband are six children, Frank M. McAuley, Robert H. McAuley, Mrs. Margaret Guerin, and Mrs. Francis Hall, all of Galesburg; Mrs. Mary Terpening of Chicago and Mrs. Laura Woolsey of LaFayette. There are 22 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one brother, Frank McCreight of Galesburg.
