NORA CHRISTY DIES; RITES HELD TUESDAY
Mrs. Nora Christy, 86, died Saturday at 4:30pm shortly after arriving at Wilson County Hospital. She had been ill since April.
Nora Stephens was born November 7, 1885 at Graham, Missouri to Lindsay and Alpha Retta [Pool] Stephens. She was married December 26, 1909 at Polo, Missouri, to George M. Christy and they moved to Neodesha December 29 of that year.
Mrs. Christy is survived by her husband of the home at 1523 N. 10th Street; two daughters, Mrs. Lenore E. Rudd and Mrs. Dale [Margaret] Pucket, both of Neodesha; two granddaughters, Mrs. Ron [Susan] Quanstrom, Norman, Oklahoma and Mrs. Jackie L [Kathleen] Floyd, Neodesha; and one great grandson, Jack Dale Floyd, Neodesha. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, John.
Mrs. Christy held membership in the United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and White Shrine and was a member of the past president' of the Auxilary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2pm in the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert E. Jones officiating. Interment was at Neodesha Cemetery under direction of the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
Casket bearers were Paul Arnold, Charles Koger, Joe Morrow, Everett Powell, Bill Reynolds, and Lester Sannes. Mrs. Gayle Allen sang "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset" with Mrs. Ray Holmberg as organist.
Out of town relatives attending were Ron Quanstrom, Norman, Oklahoma, Mrs. W.H. George, Mrs. C.J. Brown, Miss Julia Christy, of Altamont; Mrs. and Mrs. A.R. Smith, Caney; Mrs. and Mrs. Dean Todd, Sedan; D.L. Rudd and Lloyd, Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. J.E. McKee and Marvin McKee, Halllowell.
