Walter Lee Earley, 68, of Buckeye, Arizona, died Monday, August 17, 2009, in Buckeye, Arizona.

He was born September 17, 1940, in Odin, Illinois, the son of James Clifford and Thelma Louise (Gentry) Earley.

He attended school in Neodesha, KS.

Mr. Earley served with the US Navy from 1957-1978, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.

On February 19, 1966, he was united in marriage to Janet Marie Morgan in Neodesha, Kansas. She preceded him in death November 19, 2002.

Survivors include one son, James Morgan Earley of Charleston, SC; one daughter, Melissa Lynn Earley of Spartanburg, SC; two brothers, Johnnie Ray Earley of Sapulpa, OK, and James Richard Earley of Blue Springs, MO.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial graveside service will be held Monday, August 31, 2009, in the Neodesha Cemetery, Neodesha, Kansas, under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel.

Military honors will be afforded by the US Naval Reserve.
