Eleanor M. Lorenz Aldridge, 92, of Gambrills, MD. died of pneumonia April 26, 2007 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born in Baltimore on May 20, 1914, she attended Strayer Business College and in 1935 was married to Reno A. Aldridge in Baltimore. She and her husband established and ran the Kenwood Cafe in Baltimore from 1937 until 1954 when they moved to Gambrills and opened Reno's Restaurant. They were joined in the business by their son and daughter-in-law in 1976. Her husband is now deceased.

Known for her good home-style cooking, she was active in the business until her recent illness and was affectionately known to all as "Grandma."

She was a member of Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church and enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her daughter, Carolyn Aldridge, died in 1943. She is survived by one son, Reno C. Aldridge of Gambrills; one sister, Agnes Williams of Ferndale; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
