ACHORD, Riley - - - Died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday at his residence, 7750 Prescott Road. He was 63, a native of Independence and had lived here for the past nine years. Body at the Welsh Parlors at 6700 Florida Boulevard. Services will be conducted by Rev. C. Bullard Jones at the funeral home at 4 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, the former Zulma Melancon; one son, Ross Achord, San Jose, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Audrey Caine, Mrs. Amber Watson, and Mrs. Geraldine Guy, all of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Lee Gunter and Mrs. Irma Davis of Campbell, Calif.; six sisters; four brothers and 17 grandchildren. He was a member of the Lanier Baptist Church.
