Gladys Apkarian, is now peacefully at rest, she has passed away.
For more than 15 years she lovingly taught her Holy Trinity Sunday School Kindergarteners that Christmas is Jesus' Birthday as they sang Happy Birthday, blew out His church candle in her freshly baked slice of white cake. Christmas isn't just presents!
Gladys was the beloved wife of the late Arsen Apkarian.
She is the loving mother of Peggy Manoogian and her husband Aram, Arlene Apkarian, and Arsen Apkarian and his wife Renee; and the cherished grandmother of Anthony and Seranie Manoogian, Arsen III, David and Kenneth Apkarian. Gladys is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, many adopted children, grandchildren, and friends.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30, 2009, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church on Monday, August 31, 2009, at 10:00 a.m.
Interment to follow at Ararat Cemetery.
