Tommie Lou Bates, age 90, of Sheffield, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013.
Visitation will be today from 1-2 p.m. at Cox Blvd. Church of Christ, Sheffield. The service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Church with Bro. Larry Kilpatrick officiating.
Pallbearers are, Jason Bates, Brad Bates, Jack Bates, Ty Bates, Mack Landsdell and Terry Vickery
She was a member of Cox Blvd. Church of Christ, having lived the majority of her life in Red Bay, Ala.
Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H.L. Bates in 1998; son, Larry Bates and parents, Traul and Linda W. Vickery; sisters, Mozell Price, Clara Young, Jewel Burleson and Wilma Adams, brothers, Bobby, Dorson, Ray and Wayne Vickery.
Survivors are, son, Phillip Bates, wife Beverly, daughter-in-love, Freida Dixon; sisters, Genell McDonald, Alapha Wiginton and Marvaline Young; grandchildren, Vicki Bates, Jason Bates (Shelly) and Brad Bates (Shayla); great-grandchldren, Jack Bates, Jolie Bates, Macon Bates and Ty Bates; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
