Bro. Joseph "J.W." Bullock, 87, died Monday, March 15, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was born March 4, 1917, to Lonnie and Oma Bartlett Bullock. He was a retired Methodist minister, pastoring numerous churches in North Mississippi. He was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening and fishing, and always enjoyed being with his family.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home in Booneville with Bro. Danny Minnix and Bro. Jimmy Glover officiating. Graveside services will follow at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in the Dry Creek community.Survivors include five daughters, Charlotte White and husband, Franklin, of Jumpertown, Rosalee Brock and husband, Wayne, of Ripley, Betty Sue Wallis and husband, David, of Ozark, Sharon Robinson and husband, Buddy, of Rienzi, and Vickie Kennedy and husband, Jim, of Tupelo; five sons, James Bullock and wife, Janice, of Baldwyn, Stacy Bullock and wife, Phyllis, of Byhalia, Joe Bullock and special friend, Paulette, of Baldwyn, Alfred Bullock and wife, Vickie, of Southaven, and Donnie Bullock and wife, Liza, of Spring Hill, Fla.; a sister, Orilla Jumper of Ripley; 45 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Beulah Stacy Bullock; a son, Gene Bullock; a grandson, Gary Wayne Brock; two granddaughters, Britney Roberts and Ashley Roberts; five brothers, Johnny Bullock, Henderson Bullock, Leonard Bullock, Eulton Bullock and Clifton Bullock; and two sisters, Louella Sterling and Estella Munn.Pallbearers will be Roger Brock, Devin Larson, Wilburn White, Buddy Robinson Jr., Art White, David Wallis Jr. and Billy Stephens.Visitation will continue until service time today.
