Levi Austin, enlisted as a private in the Berkshire County militia; was at Bennington 1777 in Capt. Aaron Rowley's company, Col. John Brown's regiment. He served at the northward under Capt. John Bacon and responded to the alarm 1780 to re-enforce Stark at Stillwater. He was born in Dedham; died in Richmond, Massachusetts.
