EATON - Mary Ellen, passed from this life Monday, June 29,2009, at the age of 78, after a long illness. She was born in Tulsa, OK on March 14, 1931, to Jeston A. and Elizabeth Cabe. Mary graduated from Claremore High School in 1949, and went on to attend business school. After a short time as an administrative secretary for McDonald-Douglas Aircraft, she dedicated the remainder of her career to children's ministries. For the next 30 years, she taught at Little Friends Preschool and served as the preschool director for much of that time. She is survived by: her husband of 55 years, her daughter and son-in-law, her granddaughters, and her sister-in-law. Mary was preceded in death by: her mother, Elizabeth Cabe; father, Jeston A. Cabe; brother, Dale Cabe; brother, Gene Cabe and wife Faye; brother, Gerald Cabe and wife Vanda. A Celebration of her life will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 2, at Faith Baptist Church of Sapulpa. Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa will take care of arrangements, with Entombment following the service at Green Hill Cemetery. Contributions to the Alzheimer's Association , in memory of Mary, will be appreciated. They may be sent to: 6465 S. Yale #206, Tulsa 74136-7810. Mary's smile will be remembered by all, as well as her selfless desire to care for others. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 6-8p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2009.
