Elwood W. Krodel, Sr., 89, of 424 S. Geyers Church Road, Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 8, 2006, in the Hershey Medical Center.

He was the son of the late John and Ann Gephart Krodel.

Mr. Krodel was a retired ironworker for Iron Workers Local 404, Harrisburg.

He was of the Protestant faith; was a Navy Veteran of World War II; enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, and gardening.

Mr. Krodel was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Shull Krodel.

Surviving is fours sons, Elwood W., Jr., husband of Dorothy Drodel of Middletown, Hervie C. Krodel of Londonderry Twp., Harold L., husband of Meda Krodel of Palm Coast, FL, and Rev. Daniel M., husband of Sherri Krodel of Glen Rock, PA; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

A tribute to his life will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday at the Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home, Middletown, with the Rev. Dan Norton officiating.

Burial will be in the Hillsdale Cemetery, Middletown.

A viewing will be from 7-9 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
