Claus H. Best was the son of Wm Parker Best, MD, and Harriett Dennett Best. Mr. Best graduated from Purdue University with degrees in chemistry and pharmacology. He spent his entire career at Eli Lilly Company, retiring as Director of Raw Resources. Claus and his wife, Vera Irving Dean Best were the parents of Elizabeth Dean Best Lund Coffin and Wm. Parker Best. His grandchildren include: Amy Lund Storer, Amy Elizabeth Best Wilmouth, "Peggy" Margaret MacKensie Best, Deborah Dean Best Robinson and Wm. Parker Best III.
