Cora Laycock Dean was the daughter of Wm. Higbee Laycock and Minerva Boone Dawson Laycock. She and her husband, Irving Monroe Dean, were the parents of Bess Alice Dean (Mrs. James M. Ogden) and Vera Irving Dean (Mrs. Claus Howard Best.) Cora had three sisters and one brother: Olive Laycock (Mrs. James P. Vail), Thomas Benton Laycock, and "Jennie" Virginia Laycock (Mrs. Wm. Ruble).
