Benjamin Riley and his son Luther were going to Dryersburg, Tn to pick up his wife (whom his In-laws had taken without approval). They were stopped at a railroad crossing in Jackson, Tn. Benjamin was out of the wagon holding the team of horses, when excited by the train, the horses suddenly reared up and hit Benjamin with the tongue and broke his neck. Luther then left his body in Jackson, Tn. went to get his wife in dryersburg, Tn. returned to Hardin City, Tn. and had his father buried in the Graham Cemetary.
