Velia Bejarano Rios, age 86, passed away April 21, 2011 at Heritage Healthcare Center in Globe.

She was born in Miami, Ariz., on April 20, 1925, the daughter of Clemencia (Araujo) and Roque Bejarano.

Velia was a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Velia will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Velia leaves behind in loving memory, two sons, David B. Mesa, Jr. of Globe and Daniel (Lisa) Rios of Globe; two brothers, Arthur (Margaret) Bejarano and Gilbert Bejarano, both of Globe; two sisters, Mary Sitterley (Bob) of Seattle, Wash. and Sylvia Russel of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister-in-law, Frances Bejarano of Globe; four half-brothers, Joaquin (Florine) Sanchez of Phoenix, George (Bertha) Sanchez of Tempe, Ariz., Antonio (Esther) Sanchez of Globe, and Joe (Ginger) Sanchez of Miami, Ariz.; one half-sister, Annie (John) Sandoval of Phoenix; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Velia was preceded in death by her husband, Don B. "Nato" Rios, and her brother, Dr. Charles A. Bejarano.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 844 W. Sullivan St., in Miami, Ariz. Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 29, followed by mass at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. Interment will be at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens, Miami-Superior Highway.

Funeral arrangements for Velia Bejarano Rios were handled by Miles Funeral Services Miami.
