He was treasurer and director of the Hagerstown and Sharpsburg Turnpike Co. and treasurer of the Hagerstown and Middleburg Turnpike Co.
In 1906 he became president of the Maryland Banker's Association. He was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church.
