Melbourne - Flora Gehrig, 74, passed away on Thursday, surrounded by her loving family. Flora was born in Euclid, NY to the late William and Wilhelmina Montgomery. She was a devoted wife of 54 years and a loving mother of four daughters.

She moved to Florida in 1967. Flora was known to many as a kind, loving and compassionate lady who put the needs of others first.

Flora was also preceded in death by her brother, Allan Montgomery.

She is survived by her husband, Louis "Ernie" Gehrig; daughters, Debi Calvert, Nancy Peake, Lisi Ross and Laura Withers; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters and many nieces and nephews.

She treasured her time spent with her family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 23, 2009 from 6-8pm, at Beach Funeral Homes, 4999 North Wickham Road, Melbourne/Suntree. A Funeral service will take place at 1pm, on Sunday, May 24th, at the funeral home with a graveside service to follow at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge.
