Wife of Matthias Ames (1745-after 1802)
Married 1769 they were the parents of at least 3 children

Children:
Lucinda Ames (1771-)
Catharine Ames (1772-1856)
Edward Spicer Ames (1775-1854)

Note on the date of death for Katherine, I have no information as to when she died it was before 8 March 1787 as research shows that Matthias had remarried by then.

"Matthias Ames was born 28 April 1751 at Preston, Connecticut, son of Daniel and Myriam (Button) Ames. He married Catherine Spicer of Groton, Connecticut, 12 March 1769. He married (2) Hannah Bogue before 8 March 1787. She died 13 September 1802 aged 62 years.
Matthias was a soldier in the Revolution from Connecticut and afterward moved to Vermont.

In March 1787 while a resident of Ira, he bought seventy-five acres north of the Castleton River in Rutland. In April 1801 he deeded his home farm, which was located on Old Route 4 in West Rutland (A. Ames on 1854 map; 1990 Grabowski farm) to his son, Avery, with the condition that he and his wife could reside there for the rest of their lives.

It is not known when or where Matthias died, but he may have been the 'Old Mrs. (possibly should read Mr.) Ames' who died in the West Parish 2 November 1810."
