COON, Jennie N. - age 91, died Monday, April 18, 1988 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday at St. Bartholomew Episcopal Church, 9552 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Fr. Eugene D. Geromel Jr. officiating. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery. Eastern Star Memorial Service will be held at 7pm Wednesday at the Sharp Funeral Home, Swartz Creek. Mrs Coon was born in Pentwater, Michigan, May 16,1896 and she lived in Flint since 1914. She married Elmer F. Coon and he preceded her in death, January 17, 1982. She was a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church for over 50 years. She was a stenographer at Jefferson School in the Flint School System. She was a past matron of the OES #447 Pilgrim Chapter in Flint. She taught piano lessons in her home for over 50 years. Surviving are son, Elmer and wife Mary Coon of New Mexico, son John and wife Irene Coon of Flint; daughter, Marion and husband Arthur Conat of Bloomfield Hills; son, Rev. David and wife Joanne Coon of Honolulu, Hawaii, son, Lloyd and wife Bernetta Coon of Swartz Creek; 20 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; 4 sisters, Lena O'Brien of Pentwater, Michigan, Sigrid Phillion of Chicago, Anna Cloething of South Bend, Indiana, Edna Hansen of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Edna Jane Coon in 1921.
