Occupation: artist and supervisor of art in the Wallingford school system; head of the art department at Lyman Hall High School, Wallingford, and a teacher at both Paier College of Art and Southern Connecticut State University.

Jordan spent the months before his transplant working on a collection of barn drawings he had hoped to complete after his surgery. He died from complications of a liver transplant at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He had specialized in portraits of influential figures. The paintings still decorate office suites and homes in the area. His murals, depicting religious scenes, embellish synagogues in the New Haven area.

The service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Robert E. Shure Funeral Home, 543 George St., New Haven. Burial will be in Beth El Memorial Park, Hamden. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation, 414 Skytop Drive, Fairfield, Connecticut 06430
