Clarence Asberry Abbott, Jr., 80, of Gautier, MS passed away on Friday, July 25, 2008 at his residence. He was born August 7, 1927 in Spartanburg, SC.

He retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force and served during WWII, Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. After serving 25 years for his country, he was an electrician for Ingalls Shipbuilding from 1975 until 1991. Mr. Abbott was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gautier and Knights of Columbus.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Josie L. Abbott; son, Michael Allen Abbott; brother, Rudolph Abbott.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Christina Abbott, of Vancleave; three grandchildren, Katherine Renee, Mark Wayne, and Brandy Nicole Abbott, all of Vancleave; sister, Mary G. Haynes, Gafney, SC; sister-in-law, Felda Abbott, Powdersprings, GA.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00-8:00pm at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gautier.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 12:00 noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gautier with Father John McGrath officiating.

Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
