Martha Charlene Ball, 91, passed away on Dec. 16, 2007 in the Colonial Oaks Nursing Home. She was one of seven children born to Fred and Edna Hemmeger. She was born on Feb. 9, 1916.

Martha graduated from Howard Township High School in 1934 and from Tucker Vocational School of Practical Nursing.

She married Solomon Ball of Marion, Ind. in 1940 and was married for 58 years until he passed away in 1998. Martha retired as a LPN from Marion General Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Edna Mae (Vermillion) Hemmeger; one sister, Joan Swanson; and two brothers, Earl Hemmeger and Elmer Hemmeger.

She is survived by sisters, Berniece Record, Logansport, Virginia Hemmeger, Kokomo, and Mary Wyckoff, Warsaw. As well as three nieces and six nephews.

Services were held Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion. Burial was made in Grant Memorial Cemetery, Marion.
