Frank Baker, 82, a lifelong resident of Huntington county, died at 10:55 p.m. Saturday at the Huntington County Hospital, where he had been a patient four weeks. He had been in ailing health six months and seriously ill four weeks.
Mr. Baker was born 5 May 1873, in Huntington County to William and Sarah Bunker Baker. He was married 4 June 1891, in Huntington County to Emma E. Mead, who died 6 October 1905. His second marriage was in 1910 in Huntington County to Rosa Earhart, who died 25 February 1945.
Survivors include four children, all of the first marriage, Mrs. Maude M. Miller, Clyde H. Baker, and Floyd K. Baker, all of this city, and Roy D. Baker, Huntington route seven; seven grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Frank Sands of this city.
Two brothers, Ira and Otho Baker, are dead.
Mr. Baker was at one time a farmer. He was later employed 17 years by the Erie railroad company and also was an employee of the old Collins Ice and Ice Cream company. His last employment was at the Huntington County hospital, where he worked eight years.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Sunday at the Robbins funeral home, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Ivan R. Wood, officiating. Burial will be in Lancaster cemetery.
