Rose "Boots" M. Cirinna

BOSSIER CITY, LA - "I will rise when He calls my name, no more sorrow, no more pain…" After a brief struggle with cancer, God called upon His earthly angel, Rose Marie (Boots) Sisson Cirinna and she was welcomed to His Kingdom on August 30, 2009 in San Antonio, Texas.

Rose was born February 2, 1933 in Mathiston, Mississippi to James and Gennellah Sisson. After graduating from high school in Columbus Mississippi, she went to work in the fingerprint division of the FBI in Washington, D.C. where she met her future husband of 50 years, Paul Michael (Mike) Cirinna. Mike's service with the Air Force took them to Rapid City, SD; Seville, Spain; Austin, TX; Fort Walton Beach, FL and ultimately to Bossier City, La where they retired in 1974. During these travels Rose raised three sons and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.

Rose never met a stranger and all who were fortunate enough to know her found an instant friend with the sweetest spirit. Throughout her life she always thought of others before herself and we will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held for Rose Cirinna on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, September 4, 2009 from 7:00 - 8:30 PM at Hill Crest Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Gennellah Sisson, husband Mike, sister JoAnn (Peggy) Phelps, and brother James (Buddy) Sisson Jr. She is survived by her sister Barbara (Sookie) Doremus of Aniston, Alabama, along with her sons Steve and wife Celeste of Montrose, Iowa; Mark and wife Terri of San Antonio, Texas; and Chris and wife Susan of Mansfield, Texas. She leaves behind 7 grandchildren, Jennifer (Lynchburg, VA), Daniel (Montrose, IA), Michael (Bedford, TX), Brittani and Isaac (Mansfield, TX), and Kalie and Evan (San Antonio, TX). She also leaves behind her dear neighbors and friends Dusty and Eunice Rhodes.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity in her name.
