Bill was a horse trainer and to promote his business he entered his horses in the Des Moines State Fair Harness Races. He won several races and set a record in 1920 with Mable Payne. Bill married Martha SMITH in 1907 in Polk County, Iowa. They lived on Tanawonda Drive in S/W Des Moines. Bill also had a farm near Commerce City, West of Des Moines on the Raccoon River. Martha, Bill`s spouse is also in this niche placed there after her death in 1942 at the peak of concern over our losses during WWII. Bronze metal was not available to civilians for such use so her name was never added; however FL assures that her remains are so placed.--->
