She was a 1966 graduate of Sandia High School, Albuquerque, New Mexico. She had been employed for 24 years by Texas International Airlines, then Continental Airlines, as a flight attendant.
Survivors include her parents, Harold and Lois Hovdenes, Lewisville, Texas, and her sister, Lore Hemsell of Denton, Texas.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday in Miller Funeral Home, and burial will be in Hills of Rest Memorial Park, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
