Arthur Lee Obese died on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at Sioux Valley Hospital, two days short of his ninetieth birthday. He was born on June 5, 1913 in Avon, South Dakota,the son of Henry and Nettie Unruh Boese. He was married to Ruth Elizabeth Drew on June 29, 1941. He served in the United States Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945. During that time he was stationed at air bases in North Africa and Italy. Art was dedicated to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He lived in Sioux Falls most of his life and worked at the Carpenter Hotel, the Cataract Hotel and the Sioux Falls School system. He is survived by his wife Ruth, children Maudie Tschetter (Dennis), Sioux Falls; Robert Boese (Bonnie), Cambridge, Minnesota and Mary Ward (Donald), Pierre, South Dakota. Art will be loving[ly] remembered by his grandchildren Steven Tschetter, Manassas, Va; Amy Boese (Jay Coland), Minneapolis; Scott Tschetter, Milwaukee; Carrie Ward (Torry Zeller), Pierre; Alexandra Boese (Dan Buck), St. Paul; and Judson Ward, Tucson, Arizona; and by three great-grandchildren: Juno and Rhea Coland, Minneapolis; and Roan Buck, St. Paul. His smile and love will be greatly missed by all of his family. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Amanda Schultz, Martha Graber and Alice Boese; and brothers Levi Boese and Edward Boese. Services will be held at 10 AM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Sioux Falls (4201 E. 10th) On Monday, June 9th--Argus-Leader.
