Mike Joseph, Philadelphia racing driver, died of injuries when his car crashed into an embankment at Lakewood Speedway, Atlanta, during a trial run.
Joseph's car overturned twice. He was making a trial run the last AAA sanctioned race before the annual Indianapolis "500."
It was the first death of an AAA driver here since Indianapolis winner, George Robson and George Barringer were killed here Sept.2, 1946.
Joseph, 39, was a veteran of 14 years in racing.
Mike was laid to rest on on May 12,1950.
