Ferndale Man Passes Away
Ferndale, Feb. 17.—John J. Cruickshanks passed away Saturday afternoon at the Scotia hospital following a short illness. Deceased was born in Nova Scotia, December 22, 1850, coming to California in 1878. He made his home for many years at Thorn with his brother John and family, later moving with them to Santa Rosa and returning here to make his home with his brother Fred two years ago when John passed away. He leaves to mourn his passing one sister, Mrs. Janet Dean, of Medford, Mass., and two brothers, Arthur of Nova Scotia, and Fred of Ferndale, also a number of nephews and nieces. The funeral will be held today (Tuesday) at 2:30 p.m. from the citizens chapel. Rev. R.D. Douglas will conduct the services.
