Elizabeth Rowe Veale, daughter of Benjamin Rowe and Sarah Ann Muttit, one of a family of eight, and wife of Samuel Bailey Veale. They married in Darlington, Durham County, Ontario and by 1864 were farming in Malta, DeKalb County, Illinois. They had twelve children of whom nine were living at her death.
Their children were Tommy, Willie, Emily; Ida, Albert; Mabel, Lillian, Anna, Cora Lina, and Sarah, and Elva.
The funeral services were held at the M.E. church, of which she was a member, on Tuesday morning [September 19], and the remains were taken to Malta for burial. Rev. J.M. Wheaton, assisted by Revs. G.H. Smith and H.A. Fisk, conducted the services.
