Illness Is Fatal
Mrs. Elsie Alvine Mayberry Johnson Moose, 72, or route 14, Statesville, died at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday at Iredell Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Iredell County on March 9, 1910, a daughter of the late Obadiah and Martha Isabel Queen Mayberry.
She was a retired textile employee.
Her husband, John Sherrill Moose, preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Harold C. Johnson, Clyde Luther Johnson, Brady H. Johnson and C. O. Johnson, all of Statesville; one daughter, Lillian Louise Johnson of the home.; four brothers, Arthur and Cleve Mayberry, both of Statesville, and Lester and Espy Mayberry, both of Harmony; one sister, Mrs. Alberta Little of Salisburg; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4 p.m. today at Hebron Baptist church Cemetery with Rev. William Wease officiating.
The body will remain at Reavis Funeral Home in Statesville until the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church of the donor's choice.
