DEATH COMES TO MRS. BLACKBURN

Mrs. Margaret Ann Blackburn, widow of the late Elza Blackburn, died at 10:45 o'clock Friday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Palmer Hodges, 418 Q street, following an illness since December 8, 1944.

The body was prepared for burial at the Day-Carter & Roach funeral home and will lie in state there. Funeral services will be held at the Oolitic Baptist Church, of which she was a charter member, at 3:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon with the Rev. John Parrott in charge. Burial will be in the Hopkins cemetery north of Oolitic.

A native of Lawrence county, Mrs. Blackburn was the daughter of Samuel and Malinda Zike Bennett and was born August 31, 1864. Her marriage with Elza Blackburn occurred in Bedford on March 27, 1896. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1943.

She is survived, besides the daughter at whose home she died, by a step-son, Leslie Blackburn, Bedford; five grandchildren, a brother, William Bennett, Parkdale, Oregon; two half-sisters, Mrs. Jennie Dierking, Detroit, Michigan, and Hattie Blackburn, Oolitic, and two great-grandchildren.

HELD BLACKBURN FUNERAL SUNDAY

Final rites for Mrs. Margaret Ann Blackburn, who died last Friday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Palmer Hodges, 418 Q Street, were held at 3:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Oolitic Baptist Church under direction of the Day-Carter & Roach funeral home.

The services were in charge of Rev. John Parrott and Mrs. Osia Lewis provided music during the rites.

Floral tributes were in charge of Vivian Bennett, Mary Catherine Hert and Joan Hatfield.

Pall bearers were Rex and Virgil Bennett, Osia Lewis, Clovis Hodges, Ray Bridwell and Kelcie Fitzgerald.
