Lewis Bissell was the son of George Bissell and Fanny Wilson. He was born 1812 in Connecticut and died Dec. 1887 in San Jose California. He married Electa West 12 May 1837 in Quincey Illinois. The family lived in Lee County Iowa and are on the 1850 and 1860 Census. Lewis and Electa had two daughters Eliza A. who married James Humphrey, and Mary Electa who married John D. Anderson.
