Andrew J. Cowser Dead

Andrew J. Cowser, 28 South Congress St., a resident of Emporia since 1931, died Sunday morning in Newman Memorial County Hospital.

Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in afternoon in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel, conducted by the Rev. E.A. Troyer, Pastor of the First Church of God, Erwin Gile sang, and accompanied by Mrs. Porter Clark, Pallbearers were Artie Wagner, Ralph E. Kahle, M.K. Cowser, Floyd Ragsdale, S.E. Self and J. L. Lightle. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.

The son of David M. and Rebecca E. Hobble Cowser, Andrew J. Cowser was born May 27th, 1870 in Peoria Ill and was marred to Mary Alice Stephens Feb. 5th 1921, in Cottonwood Falls. He was preceded in death by his wife, who died Jan. 14, 1953 and by six brothers and three sisters. He is survived by one son, Albert Cower, Las Vegas, Neb.; one nephew, Wiley Brown, of the home; five daughters, Doris Anderson, Ketchikan, Alaska; Mable Covradette and Spurla Burnworth, Las Vegas; Gladys Griffith. Salina and Susan Stedman, Hot Springs, Ark., one sister, Lillie Killion, Topeka, two stepsons W. C. Stephens, Tenion Wash, and C. R. Stephens, Olympia Wash. and five stepdaughters, Eva R. Rodrigues, Sebastopol, Calif., Lois L. Evans, Oakland, Calif., Caroline H. Irvin, Missoula Mont., Frances D. Barns, Dodge City and Alice M. Evans 822 Lawrence.

The Cowser Funeral

Funeral services for Andrew J. Cowser, 28 South Congress St. who died Sunday in Newman Memorial County Hospital, were held Thursday afternoon in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel, conducted by the Rev.
