Elizabeth L. (Betty) Anderson, 83, Boise, died Saturday at home. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bergeson St. LDS Chapel. Burial will follow at Terrace Lawn Cemetery. Services under the direction of Relyea Funeral Chapel.

Elizabeth "Betty" Lou Barnard was born April 25, 1922 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Lula Mae Thirkill and Burdick Lou Barnard. She attended school at Albion Normal College and then became a teacher at Rockland High School. It was there that she met her future husband, Chad K. Anderson.

Betty Lou and Chad were married July 3, 1942 in Soda Springs. Shortly thereafter, Chad got his call from the U.S. Navy to report for duty. After completing his tour in the Navy in 1946, the couple moved to Boise. They resided in Boise, and two daughters, Kathleen Kay and Candace Marie, were born. In 1958 they moved to Idaho Falls. Betty Lou worked in the Bonneville School District in Idaho Falls for 19 years. She enjoyed working with all the students and talented teachers. In 1979 Betty Lou and Chad returned to Boise to enjoy their retirement together.

Betty Lou was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. During her life, she enjoyed traveling in their RV, cooking and entertaining, crafts, creative writing, gardening, and especially spending time with family. She later enjoyed the companionship of four granddaughters, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Chad K. Anderson; two daughters, Mrs. Kathy Jensen (Doryl Jensen) of Greensboro, N.C. and Candace Congreve of Clarkston, Wash.; four granddaughters, Mrs. Jenny Rebecca Mizukawa of Cincinnati, Mrs. Emily Anne Koller of Louisville, Miss Kathryn Elizabeth Jensen of Provo, Utah and Mrs. Amanda Marie Detling of Provo; and six great-grandchildren, Kate, Leah, Sam, Maya, Annie and Ruth. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005 at the Park Center Ward LDS Chapel, located at 2300 Bergeson St., Boise.
Interment will follow at Terrace Lawn Cemetery.
