Born in Gaffney, he was reared in the home of and is survived by his custodial parents, George Allen and Sadie Beattie Allen; he was the son of Sheila Allen Prather and stepson of Danny Prather of Jonesville. He was a self-employed carpenter and a member of Pacolet Road Baptist Church. He is also survived by three brothers, Jamie Allen of the home, Doug Allen of Ohio and Patrick Shane Thompson of Jonesville; one sister, Brittany Renay Thompson of the home; a grandmother Altie Thompson; three stepbrothers, Grady Lee Thompson, Bobby Thompson and Broadus Mason Thompson, all of Gaffney; two stepsisters, Ann Thompson of Gaffney and Judy Sue Thompson of Kings Mountain, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 19, 2008 in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Powell and Rev. Ray Mullinax officiating.
