Mark was born on February 3, 1946 in Los Angeles, California. He was adopted as an infant by his loving parents, Raymond and Alice Amlin, and was raised in Clontarf, Minnesota.
Upon graduating from high school in 1963, Mark joined the United States Air Force.
While stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base, he met the only love of his life, Kathleen Ann Vitley. They were married in Boise at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on June 12, 1965. This year marked their 48th Wedding Anniversary.
After they were married, Mark worked for many years in the auto parts industry in both Idaho and Minnesota before he was forced to retire early due to health issues related to his military service.
Mark was a proud Veteran who loved his Country and all who have served, taking special pride in his Grandson, Sean Roberts, who is also a Veteran.
Mark enjoyed life as best he knew how. His sense of humor was raw, funny and infectious. His intelligence was unlimited. His laugh was resounding and spread like wildfire.
His love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be his lasting legacy. He was proud of all of them, but enjoyed a very special relationship with his "little slugger", Kaeden.
Mark is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathleen, of Boise; sister, Sheila Jefferies, and her children, Darren Staton and Shauna Linsrud, all of Benson, MN; five children: Deanna, Mary, Suzanne, Marc Jr. and Raymond; his eight grandchildren: Nicole, Sean, Amy, Michael, Ashley, Brooke, Krishelle and Brittany; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Alice.
Please, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marc's name to Sacred Heart School Boise, Idaho.
A viewing for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Cloverdale Funeral Home. His funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
