Maren was born in Denmark. She and her family joined the Mormon Church there and emigrated to the Rexburg, Idaho area. She married another Danish immigrant Anders (Andrew) Andersen and had two children. Maren suffered from grave mental illness and was confined to "The Idaho State Insane Asylum" in Blackfoot, Idaho, and was later transferred to the Idaho State School and Colony Hospital in Nampa, Idaho where she spent the rest of her life. She was buried as "Mary Anderson" as her name had been "Americanized". Thanks to a Find A Grave volunteer I now have a photo of her grave site. There is no marker (by the time she died her husband had passed away in Utah where he was buried). I will research the possibility of placing a gravestone. Update: On December 4, 2018, a grave stone was placed on her grave site by her great grandson.
