ALFRED L. BADGETT, 73, of LONG BRANCH, died Friday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was a master baker and supervisor in Buffalo, New York and New Jersey. He was an active member of Second Baptist Church, Long Branch. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1950 to 1957 as a sergeant first class.

He was born in Garner, N.C.

He is predeceased by his parents, Odell Badgett and Milia Turner Williams; two brothers, Samuel Otis and William Arthur Badgett.

Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Betty Miller Badgett; two daughters, Althea Jackson of Long Branch and Dale Ofei-Ayisi of Tinton Falls; a son, Glen C. Turner of Jersey City; three brothers, John Barbour of Raleigh, NC, Troy Barbour of North Brunswick, NJ and Joe Badgett of Oxford, N.C.; a sister, Lucy Slade of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
