Edward Carroll "Eddie" Black, 70, of 9 Orchid Drive, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at his home.
He was the husband of the late Nettie S. "Boots" Black, and son of the late Carroll M. and Mae Wynn Black.
A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was owner of Westwood Lodge prior to his retirement. He was a member and Association Director and former Sunday School Director of Morgan Memorial Baptist Church, and was also a member of Gideons North Camp of Greenville.
Surviving are a son, Johnny Chappell of Pelzer; daughters, Shirley Ward and her husband, Stanley, of Pelzer, and Colleen Green and her husband, Rick, of Piedmont; sisters, Dorothy Nichols and her husband, Morris E., and Mary Childs and her husband, Morris L., all of Greenville; and five grandchildren.
Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation: 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
