Madonna M. Bailey, age 84, a former resident of 709 W. High Street in Portland, Indiana and a current resident of Millers Merry Manor in Marion, Indiana died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Milers Merry Manor in Marion, Indiana.
Madonna was a resident of Portland moving to Billings, Montana in 1965. She moved from Billings, Montana back to Portland, Indiana in 1984 and moved from Portland, Indiana to Marion, Indiana in 2007.
Madonna was a former employee of the Jay Garment in Portland, Indiana and This Old House Restaurant in Portland, Indiana. She also worked at Yellowstone Country Club in Billings, Montana as a waitress. She was a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary of Portland and the Portland Moose Auxiliary.
Madonna M. Bailey was born on August 12, 1923, in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of James and Sarah (Knab) Bailey. She married Gerald DeBoy in 1939, who died in 1977. She then married Elwood Bailey in 1978, who died in 1981.
Survivors include:
3 sons: Rex DeBoy – Albany, Indiana
Roy DeBoy (wife Sue) – Marion, Indiana
Gerald DeBoy Jr. (wife Janie) – Jacksonville, Alabama
12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Gibson who died in 2003.
Funeral services for Madonna will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home with Pastor Hugh Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland, Indiana.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
Memorials may be directed towards the Jay County Cancer Society.
