SAN MARCOS - Joseph M. Abreu, 65, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, of natural causes.

Born May 10, 1936, in New York, he lived in San Marcos for 32 years.

He retired in June 1991 as a photography teacher from Palomar College. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Abreu is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ann Abreu of San Marcos; son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Beth Abreu of San Marcos; daughter Michel Abreu of San Marcos; and grandchildren, Cherish and Haley Abreu.

Viewing is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. today, March 12, at North County Cremation Service Chapel.

A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, at St. Mary's Church, 1160 S. Broadway with the Rev. Navarra officiating.

Private inurnment is planned at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations to a charity of choice.

North County Cremation is handling arrangements.
