Rulon Bambrough, 85, our beloved uncle and brother-in-law, fell asleep in death on June 7, 2009. He resided at 8248 South Coolidge Street (90 West) in Midvale, Utah at the time of his death.


He was born March 15, 1924 in Layton, Utah to Orville J. and Nellie F. (Frasier) Bambrough.


On October 23, 1944, Rulon married Betty Strom in Norfolk, Virginia.


Rulon had been a faithful member of Jehovah's Witnesses for 60 years, serving as an Elder in the Sandy, Utah congregation.


Rulon grew up in Riverdale, Utah, and attended Weber State University. He was initially employed by the Ken Garff automobile dealership, working in the body shop. He later worked for Traveler's Insurance Company as an automobile damage appraiser.


Rulon was a talented Square Dancer, belonged to many square dance clubs in the Salt Lake Valley, performed in several states and was featured on television.


He loved gardening. He was especially fond of his vegetable garden and his roses. In his later years he acquired a new hobby of travel. He said his bag was always packed, and he was ready to go. Rulon will be remembered for being one who was loved by all who knew him.


Survivors: brother-in-law, Ralph Ruhlander, Cottonwood Heights, UT; sister-in-law, Verna Bambrough, Roy, UT; nephews and nieces, Barry (Diane) Ruhlander, Cottonwood Heights, UT; Lynne (John) Burningham, Draper, UT; Bonnie (Jim) Schoenfeld, Roy, UT; Dee (Shelley) Bambrough, Vernal, UT; Randy (Susan) Bambrough, Fremont, CA; Jan (Robert) Shane, Sandy, UT; grand niece, Lori (Dustin) Crump, Sandy, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty Bambrough, brothers, Lou Bambrough, Ivan Bambrough, sister, LaNetha Pierce, sister-in-law, Elaine Ruhlander.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, Midvale. Friends may call at the viewing on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Midvale City Cemetery.
