OBITUARY - MRS. SUSANNAH ARMITAGE
Mrs. Susannah Armitage passed away at the home of her son, Bruce, Wednesday morning at 12:30 o'clock, following a brief illness.
Susannah Timerson was born in New York state January 14, 1848, and came to Wisconsin with her parents when a small child, the family settling on a farm near Ashippun, in Dodge County. She was married January 1, 1874 to Willis K. Armitage of Neosho. Eight years later they moved to Clark Co. and settled on the farm now owned by their son Bruce. Here Mr. Armitage died on April 4, 1912, and since that time Mrs. Armitage has made her home on this farm.
Three children were born to them, Rosa Belle, who died in infancy; Willis, who died May 9, 1925, and Bruce, who survives. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Rosa Broker and three grandchildren, Lisle, Dale and Dorothy Armitage.
Mrs. Armitage was a member of the M.E. church, was President of the Ladies Aid for many years and active in all church work when her health permitted.
The funeral was held Saturday March 20, 1926 at the Methodist Church in Christie and remains were laid to rest in the Neillsville Cemetery.
Those from away who were here at attend the services were, Mr. Frank Tremaine Sr. and daughter, Ruby of Oconomowoc, Mrs Ruby Edwards of Oakfield, Chas. Hilligas and Herbert Tubbs of Seymour.
