Marjory E. Cracknell, 85, died Thursday (Feb. 21, 2008).
Marjory was born Oct. 8, 1922, to Mabel D. and Edwin G. Glorius in Dalton, Pa. She graduated from Brooklyn Methodist Hospital as a registered nurse in Feb. 1944, she worked in the OR in the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and in the same capacity years later at the Bethesda Hospital in North Hornell. She also was a bank teller in Canaseraga from 1976-1986. She was also a campfire leader and advisor to the future nurses club. On May 25, 1946, she married William Cracknell Jr. of Glenburn, Pa., who predeceased her March 7, 1995.
She is survived by one sister, Mabel (Fredrick) Hamilton of Spring Hill, Fla.; sister-in-law, Sally Glorius of Dunedin, Fla.
She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Glorius, and sisters, Ruth Tiffany and Elizabeth Correll.
Her family includes one son, Robert (Shah) Cracknell of Canaseraga; six daughters, Carol E. Gomez of Canaseraga, Susan D. (Gary) Crawford of Tilghman Island, Md., Beth E. (Robert) Flint of Springville, Gloria R. (Gary) Swain of Canaseraga, Mary J. Reynolds of Dansville, Marjory J. (Robert) Chapman of Dansville; her grandchildren include Jennifer (Brian) Cooke, Christopher (Susan Alton) Dailey, Robert (Shannon) Flint Jr, Garrison (Tiffany) Gomez, Katherine Flint, Amy (Andrew) Patrick, Matthew Reynolds, Bridget Reynolds, Melissa (Carl) Leitten, Michael (Kelly Fitzpatrick) Swain, Zachary Cracknell, Emily Cracknell and Vanessa Sick; plus three great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters.
She spent many hours reading and enjoying New York Yankee games but most of all loved time shared with family.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Mann Funeral Home, 11 Pratt St., Canaseraga., funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Jess Flint officiating. Burial will be in the Canaseraga Cemetery.
