CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Martha Jane Griffiths (nee Holm), 78, passed away April 30, 1998.
Mrs. Griffiths was born in Akron and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls most of her life. She had been a school teacher for the Cuyahoga Falls Board of Education, retiring in 1990, spending most of her career teaching at Lincoln Elementary. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, its Wesley Sunday School Class, and the Wesleyan Circle. She was a January 1938 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, a graduate of Kent State University, and a member of Kappa Kappa Iota Professional Teachers Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack F. and sister, Julia Lowe, and is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Gretchen of Wooster, John and Margaret of Rochester, N.Y., Charles and Diane of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Wayne Schuman of Forest City, Ark.; grandchildren, Edward (Lisa), Jeffrey (Taema), Julia, Tracy and Matthew; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Doran Hammack of Cuyahoga Falls; sister, Miriam Smetts of Stow; and brother-in-law, Eugene Lowe of Jefferson, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, where a funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Dr. Forrest J. Waller officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
