OBITUARY.
We regret to record the death of one of Maryborough's very old identities in the person of Mr. John Wearin, who passed away at the Maryborough General Hospital late on Monday night in his eighty-third year. Last week the deceased, while staying with his eldest son (Mr. J. Thacker Wearin) at Torquay, had the misfortune to fall out of his bed, breaking his leg and wrist. He was immediately conveyed to the Hospital, but the shock, at his great age, proved too much for him.
Mr. Wearin had been a resident of Maryborough and district since1859, a period of 61 years, and during the greater part of that time resided at Granville, where, here, with his wife, he brought up a family of six sons and four daughters, namely, Messrs. J. Thacker Wearin (head teacher of the Biggenden State School), Francis W., Harry G.'T., Edward M., Hervey W. and Sidney N. Wearin and Misses Annie E., Amelia R. A., Edina P. and Isabel S. Weain.
The funeral leaves the Maryborough Hospital at 10 o'clock this morning, the inter ment being of a private nature.
